Front headlight lenses are cloudy

Dear Doctor: I have a 2004 Honda Civic Si with about 88,000 miles on it. The front headlight lenses are becoming increasingly cloudy. I asked at my Honda dealer what he thought of the lens cleaners on the market today. I was told to rub transmission fluid on them to bring back the bright clear finish. Do you have experience in this area? John

Dear John: There are many cleaner systems on the market today to eliminate the cloudy headlight lenses on late model vehicles. To clean the oxidation from outside the lenses you must tape off the lens and simply follow the next steps to clean the headlamp lens.
