2008 VOLKSWAGEN JETTA – Featured Used Car

Posted on May 18, 2011 by Constance

For 2008, the Volkswagen Jetta draw its motive power from a new 170 horsepower, 2.5-liter five-cylinder engine that generates 177 lb.-ft. of torque. The 2.0T engine is now only available on the VW GLI.

Jetta will incorporate new trim designations: S, SE, and SEL, and Leatherette will now be called V-Tex.

An automatic transmission is only available on the Jetta SEL. A temporary use spare tire becomes standard. For 2008, color and texture modifications take place — Laser Blue replaces Shadow Blue, and Wheat Beige is deleted. Front and rear lower valances are in a black textured finish on S and SE trim models and body color on SEL Jettas.

A 2.5 badge comes with the Jetta S trim, along with 16-inch steel wheels and full covers. Climatronic and leather seating surfaces are no longer available.
A power recline feature is standard for all trims. Seventeen-inch wheels become standard on the Jetta SEL. Homelink is deleted. The Cold weather package is optional on S trim cars, as are 16-inch alloy wheels and sunroof. A Premium sound package (including amplifier and 250W) becomes optional on SE.

Volkswagen added more content for less money for last model year’s Jetta, creating greater value for the automaker’s best-selling vehicle.
